Now is the time

I f  you were ever thinking of becoming a Stampin Up! demonstrator now is the time.  They have a very special promotion going on for the month of May.  The starter kit is discounted to $159.00 plus you also receive Hodge Podge Hardware free.  That alone is a $29.95 value with approx. 100 embellishments and 100 brads.  If you would like more information please email me and I will answer any questions you have.  Being a demonstrator is fun and easy and a great way to meet new people and earn money.  I just recently had two people join my group and they are doing great!!!

Here is a some pictures of a project that I did with my hostess group last month.  It was a fun mini book made from long notes.

I have other special news to share as well.  I entered a Digi Designing contest at Scrap Orchard and last week I advanced to the second round.  You can pick up my kit for free by registering on their gallery.  I was very excited to see all the layout contest participants using my kit.  I have learned so much lately about digi designing and I hope to be doing even more of it in the future.  Tomorrow I find out if I advance to the third week assignment or not.  Keep your fingers crossed for me.

Mother's Day

I had the most wonderful day with my kids.  Luckily the weather was just perfect so we went out in the yard,
set up a up a blanket and talked and played with our cat and dog.  The breeze was blowing, the temperature w
as just right and I was so relaxed I almost fell asleep.  I have to say that I also got the best presents from them.  They handmade me a journal using my scrabook supplies.  You have to know that this was very special
because my 15 year old daughter, who orchestrated most of the surprise gift, never wants to scrapbook with
me ever.  She knew how much I would like it so she jumped right in.    When I asked her afterward if she
had fun and she said yes, but when I asked to later on today if she wanted to scrap with me a little she gave
me a big No thank you.  My 9 year son and she said that they would sneak in my scraproom when I was
on the computer and grab my supplies and run with them up to their room.  They painted chipboard,
stamped and even tore paper.  Then inside they created and wrote a Mother's Day poem that was so sweet.

It was truly a beautiful gift and one I will never forget.

Have a Happy Mother's Day!

Big News

I have some wonderful news to share. As you might have seen I have been putting a lot more digital layouts on my blog lately. Since taking my Jessica Sprague's classes I have found that digi scrapping is really something I enjoy and feel comfortable doing. It has even helped me with my traditional scrapping. Sometimes I put my ideas into a digital format and then copy it with traditional paper supplies. It's been a fun process and I am really excited about putting all the digi pages that I have been making into a hardback book from Shutterfly.

Well on to my great news. I have been accepted as a CT member for Ann-Marie at PickleberryPop. Ann-Marie is a digital designer from Australia and PickleberryPop is based from there as well. The following layouts are my first pages that I designed using some of her products. I really love her digi creations and am very excited to have been picked for such an honor. Stop by her store to check out all of her kits. Right now she is even running a great special. 30% off most products until May 8th and spend 8$ in her store and get the grab bag for free, worth $12.50.

I'm back

Another digi layout. I have been having so much fun with these. I feel like I can be so much more creative with digi scrapping. I don't whether it's because you don't have to worry about cutting a piece of paper too small or that you can easy move elements around and really see what they look like. Believe me I really do love the paper scrapbooking. There is nothing like feeling something really tangible and 3D in your hands. I think paper scrapping gives me more a sense of accomplishment but maybe that's just because it so much harder for me to paper scrap than digi scrap. I don't know. I will have to think on that one some more.

The above layout is a rather simple layout but I really wanted the picture to say it all. I absolutely love this picture of my son. I am sure that I have probably posted it before but it really ranks up in the top five of all time good pictures I have of him.

Tonight was a beautiful night. We sat out on the deck and enjoyed the good weather. I am getting over one of my mega colds and it was nice to be able to actually breathe again. I got some good medicine from the doctor today so that will hopefully knock it out for good.

I am having my monthly hostess club meeting this weekend. If you are interested in learning more about being in my hostess club please email me. We have lots of fun and always earn lots of great Stampin Up! products.

Crazy Weather

Crazy weather again in Alabama.  The kids got out of school early today.  We lost power for about 6 hours.  No internet either.  Totally no fun.  I finally ran out of battery on my laptop and had to go charge it up on in my  car.  It was pretty comical actually.  I had a extension cord in there so that I could charge up Brett's gameboy and my cord for my laptop.  We decided to go and get something to eat so the electronics charged while we were driving to the restaurant but it wasn't that far so they didn't really get a good charge.  I thought for sure when we got home the power would be on so I headed home.  Driving home I looked for lights on in the homes.  So far so good.  Got closer to my house.  Yes, still on.  Right at the stopsign before my house, I look at the light post.  It's not on.  You have got to be kidding me.  Sure enough, got home, no power.  It seems as if the power was still out in my immediate area.  About a four house radius.  Just my luck.  Well at 7:30, about 15 minutes after we arrived home the power was finally restored.  My kids about did the happy dance.  Yeah, we can play video games.  Yeah, momma can finally get on the internet.  '

So I got updated about what was going on in the world and decided to post this layout that I did a couple days ago.  Supplies are from Peppermint Creative.  I have been so loving this digi scrapping.  I have learned so much from my classes with Jessica Sprague.  I truly had an a ha the other day.  I'll try to remember to tell about that in my next post.  I also have some cards to share.  Look for that coming up soon.

Loving Peppermint Creative

Legos Here is a layout that I created using products from Peppermint Creative.  I love the fun products that Miss Mint has designed.  Right now she is having a birthday sale where you get the presents.  30%  off everything in her store.  That is huge.  Truthfully her prices are already fantastic so this is just a bonus savings.  Let me  know what your favorite kits are.

This layout is designed completely with digital scrapbooking products.  If you are interested in learning more about digital scrapbooking let me know.  I have been thinking about teaching some Photoshop classes that focus on getting started in digi.  I am also working on another project involving digi scrapbooking.  I'll be back with more information on that when things fall more into place.

Hello From Florida and More Scrapbook Pages

Well, I'm saying hello from sunny Florida.  We have been having the best weather.  It's been warm and sunny and there has been the nicest breeze.  Very different from the nasty weather we had when we left Alabama.  I later found out that friends of ours got hit by a tornado and their house suffered major damage.  I hope our house is okay.  Well today we are heading to Disney World for a couple of days.  We haven't seen Mickey in about 4 years so the kids are excited.

I have really been doing a lot of digital scrapbooking lately.  I really love how easy it is for me to pull everything together.  I am just loving all the new digital products that are out there now.  The quality of digital products are so much better than they used to be.  One store I really like is Peppermint Creative.  I love all their papers and elements.  The prices are so great too.  They also offer a free kit each month so pop over there to check it out.  Here is a one of the layouts that I have been working on lately using their kits.Brett6birthday

Another Thank You card

A real quick post today with another Thank You card that I made Sunday.  This stamp is from a set in the new mini catalog.  I love all the cute elements that come in this set.  A cake, an owl, a tree branch, some others and this really cute little heart that I used in the card below.  They also all come with sayings that you can cut apart from the images and mount on the side of the block giving the set more versatility.  All supplies from Stampin Up!

Time Flies

TimefliessmHere is the first layout that I did for the Up & Running Class at Jessica Spraque.com.  I am really happy with the way it turned out.  It was pretty easy but I learned some good design tips and as far as I am concerned, a scrapbook page completed is a scrapbook page completed.  Not that I really feel that behind.  I don't really scrap in order.  I like to scrapbook favorite events or times and since I take a ton of "portrait" type pictures of my kids I find myself scrapbooking those most of time.  Truthfully I feel that even if I didn't do another page the ones that I have done will and have made my family more than happy.

The next lesson starts tomorrow so stop back by for some more digi pages.

What kind of cards do you make?

I'm wondering what kind of cards do people make the most of?  Today I needed to make some thank you cards.  I was surprised to see that I didn't have any left in my stash.  I guess I use and thus make thank you cards the most but I also make a lot of hello cards as well.  Today I will share with you one of the thank you cards that I made.  The stamp set I used is a Level 1 hostess set from Stampin Up! and I just love it.  The images are really pretty simple but they make a great card.
